Postinor 2
An emergency contraceptive pill to be taken within 72 hours of unprotected sexual intercourse, or in cases of contraceptive failure or incorrect use of a regular contraceptive, or following sexual assault such as rape or incest. You can either take both tablets together or take one tablet first and the second tablet 12 hours later. Efficacy depends on the time of consumption. If taken early, the effectiveness is definitely more. It does not cause an abortion and should not be used as a regular contraceptive method. Manufactured in Hungary, it is marketed and distributed by The Family Planning Association of Sri Lanka. Postinor 2 is an NMRA approved, registered product.

Guidance for safe use
Take as soon as possible after unprotected intercourse — effectiveness decreases over time. Follow the package leaflet and dosage instructions.
Emergency contraceptive pills (ECPs) are for occasional, emergency use only and are not a regular method of contraception. For the best chance of preventing pregnancy, take the pill as soon as possible after unprotected intercourse — effectiveness decreases the longer you wait. ECPs do not protect against sexually transmitted infections (STIs) and will not end an existing pregnancy. Please read the package leaflet available in Sinhala, Tamil and English (refer to the insert when your package arrives) before use. FPA Sri Lanka has an in-house pharmacist: if you have any questions about timing, dosage, side effects, or whether this product is right for you, contact us in confidence on +94 11 255 5455 before or after purchase. If your period is more than a week late, or you have severe abdominal pain, please seek medical advice.
